A journal for Brain-Computer interfaces
Another quick one today.
Ever since my research project at NICTA (that will be published as part of INTERACT 2013) where I was involved in assessing ‘brain-computer interfaces’ (EEG based systems) I have been fascinated by the potential for these things. So it’s terrific to see a new journal being launched that will focus specifically on this. There are some more details about what the journal will cover here.
Unfortunately it’s published by Taylor and Francis who – of all the academic journals I’ve come across – have some of the most regressive and punative policies in terms of accessing information. But nonetheless: Exciting times! ‘Neurogadget.com‘ looks like a terrific blog too…

So Dan, why is your web site titled GUIheadz. I want the whole-of-body-(inside and out)-UI, not just the eye-ball-UI!
I take your point. And yes, there is scope for many forms of interaction in modalities other than vision or augmenting vision. I am also keenly interested in BCI and haptic feedback amongst other things. On the other hand, I would maintain that the vision system is still likely to remain the primary channel for HCI for quite a long time – it’s bandwidth is simply much higher than most other modalities. Secondly – Guiheadz is kind of funny.
